The former Commerzbank high-rise building in the heart of Frankfurt’s banking district is being revitalised by GEG, and since 2017, it has been repositioned under the name “Global Tower”. Originally constructed in 1974, and re-created by Sir Norman Foster in 1994, the Global Tower is now being attuned to the office world of the future according to plans of meyerschmitzmorkramer Architekten, providing modern office spaces and first-class equipment.

The spacious impression starts the moment you enter the representative lobby, and it goes all the way to the office floors. There, users find everything they expect from top-modern offices, even a ceiling height of up to 2.90m. Roof terraces on the 4th and 25th floors offer spectacular vistas into the street canyons between Frankfurt’s skyscrapers, which here at Mainzer Strasse let you think of New York. This architectural classic, by now a listed building, was one of the first high-rises in Frankfurt, and with its monochrome colour scheme and its cubic shape, it harks back to the Seagram Building in New York. The current revitalisation aims at attaining the top Green Building certification. The WiredScore Platin certification has already been awarded – the Global Tower is thus one of the first buildings in Germany to have received this prestigious award.
